Plano is in Texas, in the South, where summers are hot and humid, winters are short, and severe storms in spring are a fact of life; businesses run air conditioning most of the year and many open early to beat the heat. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Plano follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Hi, I found yesterday at 5:40 am a stray dog near Ballymote Lane and Van Buren Drive in Plano, TX 75074. The dog is medium to large, fluffy, tan/golden with a white chest and darker markings on the face. He doesnβt have a collar. He is not aggressive, but he seems scared and wonβt let me get close to him. I have a picture of him. If anyone is looking for it. Iβm posting the photo here.

I had a great experience adopting my dog at the Plano animal shelter. The staff and volunteers were awesome and the shelter was very clean and welcoming. The process of adopting was easy and I adopted the sweetest little Yorkie mix ever! Thank-you to everyone there for all you do for the animals.

Adopting a pet is a THEIR lifetime commitment. When we said goodbye to our 14.5 year old, perfect shelter dog a little over a month ago, we knew no furbaby could take her place ever, but that we wanted to love another furbaby. When we were both ready, I saw our sweet, new furbaby (shelter name was after our favorite dessert-Tiramisu). The Plano Animal Shelter and its staff and volunteers (who we wish we had names to thank) made the entire process so smooth and easy. We love our sweet new addition and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a new family member, starts here 1st! We will be back with donations of tennis balls and toys. Thank you so much again! :)

I've made several donations to the animal shelter. They can always use blankets, towels, sheets, bedspread, etc. Pretty much anything that can go through a washing machine. No pillows. It's a great way to help the shelter to take care of all the animals who need a home. Also, adopting a pet there is cheap and easy.

I recently adopted a puppy from Plano Animal Shelter and ultimately returned her after about a week when it became clear she wasnβt the right fit for my home. That was already an extremely difficult decision. During the return process, the staff member I spoke with (blonde hair about shoulder length and had a pink owala) made comments suggesting the puppy might be βmessed upβ because I hadnβt had her long and questioned whether I understood that dogs need time to acclimate. Coming from a background in veterinary medicine, I completely understand that shelter staff care deeply about the animals, but the tone felt very judgmental during an already emotional moment. It was extremely unprofessional and lacked empathy for a devastating situation. Many adopters are trying their best and making responsible decisions when a situation isnβt working. We exhausted every possible solution to keeping the puppy and ultimately decided the most responsible thing was to bring her back to be adopted by someone with more space for her. A little empathy during returns would make a big difference for people going through that process. I also would like to mention this puppy was positive for roundworm
